The Careers, Employability and Skills Unit at Queen's University welcomes contact from employers in relation to

We offer a range of facilities and services which include -

Careers Fairs - to promote graduate and placement opportunities

We organise a series of fairs which are highly successful in bringing students and employers together.

Student participation averages 1500 per day for the series of Careers Fairs in October, with up to 200 employers attending overall.

Exhibition Space - Students' Union

We can provide prime open "Point of Presence" space within the newly refurbished Students' Union building should you wish to set up a stand to meet informally with students. Over 76% of students use the Students' Union on a regular basis. For details of costs for use of this space contact Nuala Griffin, Employer Liaison n.griffin@qub.ac.uk

On-Campus Presentations

We can provide a range of venues and facilities free of charge for company presentations, aptitude testing and other forms of assessment and will advertise these widely if arranged through the Careers Service. Catering at presentations may be arranged through Hospitality Services. Technical or other support for presentations may incur a charge. Early booking is advised.

We would encourage companies who wish to raise their profile to firstly consider promoting their organisation at Careers Fairs and on that basis decide if a follow-up presentation is appropriate

 

On-Campus Interviews

A limited number of rooms are available for employers to conduct placement and graduate interviews on campus. A charge of £50 per day includes tea/coffee, sandwich lunch and administration. For further information contact Nuala Griffin, Employer Liaison at n.griffin@qub.ac.uk

We will advertise vacancies on our vacancy database which covers

  • current vacancies and further study opportunities
  • work experience, placements, vacation work and courses, voluntary work opportunities and part-time casual vacancies

Postgraduate Research Students

Your organisation may want to target postgraduate research students for particular types of work. Please contact Pauline Montgomery email p.montgomery@qub.ac.uk who is the specialist Careers Adviser working with postgraduate research students.

Promoting your Organisation to Queen's students

The Queen's Careers Service Guide

The Queen's Careers Service Guide is the official publication of Queen's Careers Service. It enables employers to target Queen's students and increase their organisation's visibility on campus. Published by GroupGTI, the guide is one of a series of twenty-seven publications produced in partnership with leading universities in the UK, Ireland and France. Employer led skills workshops or business games

We are keen to facilitate employer led skills workshops and other similar activities. Careers will work closely with academic staff to promote these events to students. For further information contact David Foster, Deputy Head of Service at d.foster@qub.ac.uk

 

Insight into Management

This is a 3-day, action-packed course. It is aimed at those going into Final or Pre final Year in the academic year, 2007/08.It will give students an insight into various careers in management and help them develop business skills that will give them the edge in the application and interview process and in working life after Queen's.
